This Saturday, I’m so honored to be performing at the Asian Arts Initiative’s 25th Anniversary showcase. Performing an original piece called “At Twenty-Five,” I will juxtapose Asian Arts Initiative at 25 and Kat Evasco at 25. Oh it’s going to be fun. Hope to see my Philly folks out!
Asian Arts Initiative advances racial equity and understanding, activating artists, youth, and their communities through creative practice and dialogue grounded in the diverse Asian American experience. Asian Arts Initiative was founded in 1993 as an initiative of the Painted Bride Art Center in response to racial tensions, especially between Asian American and African American communities highlighted by the Rodney King uprisings, and is now a multi-disciplinary arts organization located in Philadelphia’s Chinatown North neighborhood.
